The Evolution of the Scrub & The Daily Shoe

Muck Boots is thrilled to be sharing our 25th Anniversary with our customers.

25 years ago, it all started with a universal problem — muck.

Wet, messy, muddy, dirty muck, and we were determined to find a solution for keeping our feet warm and dry through it all.

Of course, the reality is that there is no one solution and our journey is one of constant evolution interspersed with a little revolution.

Back in the day Muck Boots HQ developed a classic easy to wear, back door utility boot and shoe.

The Scrub boot and the Daily shoe were a unisex offer in limited colour options that successfully fulfilled this role for many years.

Our product design and development are a 360’ consumer centric approach, and as successful as the Daily shoes and Scrub boots were, we needed to evolve.

Without sacrificing our DNA, we looked to develop better outsoles, enhanced fit, more user-friendly heights and to create models that recognize the physiological difference between men and women – Muckster.

The Muckster collection has continued to evolve since it updated the Daily and the Scrub. New colours and material applications have broadened appeal and opened new markets. Endorsed by the RHS the collection is a staple for gardeners, however, it makes a great back door shoe, ideal for those outside chores, and for the campers and caravanners out there, here was a solution to wet feet on the midnight bathroom run.

Originally launched in an ankle height and a shoe silhouette, the Muckster II is also available as a mid-height women's boot with a neat fold down shaft that can be worn up or folded down.

So much for evolution, the time was right for revolution. In 2023 we launched the Muckster Lite Clog; a super lightweight moulded style, manufactured entirely from our proprietary BioLite foam. Introduced at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2023, it was an instant success and led to the introduction of the Muckster Lite boot at Chelsea this year.

From a simple beginning of the Scrub and Daily in 2 colours, the Muckster II is available in Women’s, Men’s, and Kids styles, covers 4 heights, has 45 colour options and helped introduce new materials to the market.

25 years strong and we’ve only just started.
