Some of you will have noticed we have changed our sole selection from Ice Grip (Vibram Arctic Grip) to Vibram Arctic Grip All Terrain.
So what is the difference and what does it mean to you?
When Vibram Arctic Grip was first introduced into the Muck Boot collection, two of the world’s leading outdoor footwear manufacturers joined forces to bring you a combination of outstanding comfort, warmth, and weather resistance, with a novel technology designed specifically for use on wet ice.
Using a unique polymer blend, advanced filler systems and a new processing technique, Vibram Arctic Grip provided excellent grip on wet ice, utilizing ICETREK for traction on dry ice.
However, in reality, for many of us in temperate climes, cold weather often means fresh snow and ice turning to wet snow and ice, to slush and to a tenacious mud. Or those frozen patches only remaining frozen where the sun can’t reach.
This is where Vibram Arctic Grip All Terrain comes in!
Vibram Arctic Grip All Terrain is an evolution of the proven Vibram Arctic Grip compound with Vibram’s latest compound and most advanced lug pattern, XS TREK EVO.
Vibram Arctic Grip continues to provide the outstanding grip and traction on wet ice we’ve grown accustomed to, whilst Vibram XS TREK EVO is durable and engineered to provide superior grip on wet and dry terrain, therefore enabling extended usage on all terrains.
Vibram Arctic Grip All Terrain provides the required traction not only in the deepest of winter, but also when the ice is melting or getting slushy.
In short, Vibram Arctic Grip has not lost any of the performance you would expect, but through working with Vibram®, the same trusted silhouette now has even more technology and value.
