YOUR FEET ARE A TRUE WONDER

Your feet are a true marvel. A bold statement, I know. Most people say they don't particularly like their feet or feet in general.

But consider the technical masterpiece your feet perform.

26 bones, over 80 different joints, tri-planar movement, the ability to cushion the impact of human movement while acting as a rigid lever that lifts and then propels your entire body weight forward.

Your feet are very special.

And yet they spend so much time in poorly chosen footwear, that when they hurt, get cold, or even smell, we tend to blame our feet and not our boots/shoes.

Shoes have three main functions - protection from the environment, protection from the climate, and grip.

At Muck Boot, this is the minimum standard we work by. Beyond that, our aim is to provide you with the best possible fit. The construction of the lasts is crucial for an optimal fit. Our lasts take into account the physical differences between men's, women's and children's feet, as well as their different gaits.

The construction of our neoprene inner boots is at the heart of our boots. Our neoprene completely surrounds your foot, is self-insulating, soft, comfortable and 100% waterproof. They provide your foot with a great environment when you are outdoors.

Your feet are incredibly sensitive. Proprioceptors on the sole detect even the smallest changes in terrain, temperature, and grip, allowing your brain to make all the tiny muscular adjustments to keep you fully capable on two feet.

Feet are flexible platforms that adapt to keep you upright - try it! Stand on one foot and you'll feel your foot adjust as you sway to keep you from falling.

Hand-laid natural rubber overlays protect your foot and the neoprene from environmental influences, and different patterns on the outsoles give the boot the necessary grip - whether it's mud, snow, slush or ice, our boots rigorously repel dirt.

Choose appropriate footwear that keeps your feet - at a suitable temperature - dry and comfortable.

Make sure you have the right grip so you can focus on the job and not on staying upright.

Choose footwear with moisture-wicking materials so your foot can breathe.

Keep your feet clean (that's obvious, of course).

Trim your nails.

Seek professional help if you have problems - corns, calluses, fungal infections, bunions etc..

Buy shoes and boots that fit. Any size indication is a guideline. If they fit, they fit - so try on shoes if possible before deciding to buy.

As Da Vinci said: "The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art." So, take care of them so they can take care of you.
